He was like a rose
A fine rose with Godly royalty
He was sat on high with God
He was ranked on high with Him

Behold, He watched man from heaven on high
He gazed at his deeds from His throne
Ah how wicked men are
Lo, how their countenance changed not continually

So a ransom was needed
Yea, a price was proposed
To wash the Sins of man
To restore the glory that was lost

But there remaineth a lamb
Lo, a sacrifice to be slaughtered

Behold, He stepped up to be sacrificed
Yea, to be tramped upon for men

Though He is God He came as a mere man
Born of a woman, He came like an infant
Yea the Daughters of Zion rejoiced
They proclaim that the King is here

Ah! How nations rejoice at His presence
Lo even Kings marvelled at His wisdom
For He performed all miracles
Lo, name it He healed all diseases

But He was spat on by those He cared for
Oh He was trampled upon by those He’ll die for
He was clothed in humility even in shame
He was restrained even for my sins

He was beaten beyond all comprehension
He was broken beyond all Capacity
Men disapproved Him
Even His own forsook Him

They lied against Him that He might be crucified
They called Him names that He might retaliate
He was humble still
He was quiet throughout

Oh! What humility He was clothed with
Ah! What servanthood He hath taught me
He was nailed to the cross
Yea, He died with my thoughts in His mind

Behold, all afflictions were laid on Him
Yea, all oppressions were upon Him
For He bore all sins and iniquities
Lo, He took the transgressions of all men

Ah! What a desolation
Oh! What determination
Behold, He came out victoriously
Yea, He won the battle over sin

And He earned a place at His right-hand
Lo, He was given a name that is above all names

Rejoice, ye son of man for freedom He hath given to His own
Be bold, ye His chosen, for liberty we have in Him alone

For trapped we were until His death
Free We are for He is alive… Selah
