Oh Alabaster Box of Oil

Thou art honored above all ointments,
More precious than the finest perfumes.
Thine oil surpasseth all treasures;
Thy fragrance finer than rubies,
Yea, more cherished than pure gold!

For thou anointed the King’s feet,
Cleansing Him with thy sacred perfume.
Thy oil shall never run dry,
Thy scent shall linger through the ages,
As a royal diadem upon the winds.

Kings and queens shall seek after thee,
The queen of Sheba shall desire thee,
Hunting for thy beauty and grace,
To claim thee as her treasure.

Because thou blessed the King’s feet,
Thou touched the Rose of Sharon’s heart.
Thine honor is sealed among the great,
And thy glory shall not be taken away.

Oh alabaster box of ointment,
Blessed art thou among all fragrances!
Favored art thou above all perfumes,
For thou anointed the Master’s feet.
