He was like a rose,
A fine rose of godly royalty.
He sat on high with God,
Ranked in eternal majesty.

He ruled on high in glorious splendor,
Proclaiming judgment with perfect wisdom.
From His throne, He watched mankind,
Weighing their deeds, their hearts, their minds.

Ah, how wicked men are—
How their ways stray continually!
They seek only to please themselves,
Walking not in His paths of mercy.

A ransom was needed,
A price proposed,
To cleanse the sin of man,
To restore the glory lost.

Behold, a lamb remained—
A sacrifice to be slaughtered.
And He, the Lamb, stepped forward,
Willing to bear it all for us.

He came as a man, though He is God,
Born of a woman, an infant so small.
The daughters of Zion rejoiced;
The sons of men declared:

“Behold, the King is here!
Salvation draws near!”

Nations marveled at His wisdom,
And kings stood amazed at His deeds.
For He performed miracles without measure,
Healing diseases and restoring treasures.

Yet, He was spat upon by those He loved,
Trampled by those for whom He’d die.
Forsaken by His own,
Denied by His beloved,
Betrayed for thirty pieces of silver.

Even so,
He bore it all with humility.
He carried our sins without complaint.

Beaten beyond recognition,
Broken beyond understanding,
He stood silent through the lies,
Quiet amidst the scorn.

Oh, what humility clothed Him!
Ah, what servanthood He displayed!
He was nailed to the rugged cross,
Taking upon Himself mankind’s shame.

All our afflictions were laid on Him,
Our oppressions rested on His shoulders.
He bore every sin and transgression,
Dying with us in His heart.

But ah! What a wondrous price He paid,
What a sacrifice He made!
For on the third day, He arose victorious,
Conquering sin and death forevermore.

Now, He is seated at the right hand of God,
Given a Name above all names.

Rejoice, O sons of men!
For freedom is yours in Him.
Be bold, O chosen ones!
For in Him alone is liberty.

We were dead in sin until death,
But now, we are alive in Him.
For He is risen — Selah…
