It’s vain to sit up late
To wake up early
Likewise is it vanity though I sleep early
But rise up late
Oh, how good is it to sleep early to wake up early
But how vain it is to do so without God!
It is of no sense though I labour
But the Lord is not amongst it
It is a vain show to sit up as a watchman to keep the city
When the Lord watch it not
It is of no use if I pour a new wine into an old bottle
Where I say is the new bottle?
It is of wickedness though one desire Him
but seek Him not
It is a vain show, though I be praised by all
But I’m condemned by Him
It is of a fool countenance though one stands
But take no heed lest he fall
It is utterly useless though one confess the faith
But lives not by it
It is a wasted life though I lived for Him
But He recognised me not
It is of no reward though I be celebrated but all
But I’m lacking in love
It is not of God though He hath not given the spirit of fear
But one is encompassed by it
It is of no use if I build again
That which I labour to breakdown
Selah….
