Behold, I diligently consider the deeds of men
To search for knowledge under the sun
To behold the creation of God
Lo, to learn from all He has made
I returned and conclude that all is vanity and vexation of Spirit
For when I had considered all
And had enquired of men
Yea, all is but vain and a worthless show under the heavens
For I considered the righteous, how often they fail
Ah! I beheld the poor how hungry they get..
Lo, this is a mystery and vain under the sun
Behold, how doth the wicked wax strong?
And the righteous grow weak?
In prosperity, yea, even in power
This is vanity and a great mystery
I considered the ungodly, how they stroll in success
Ah! I beheld His people, how they’re sick of oppression
Oh, this is vexation of spirit and mystery under the heavens
Again, I returned to consider the affliction(s) of the afflicted
Yea, even the victory of the wicked!
This is not new under the sun and its of a great measure
Behold, I searched to and from the earth
To gain knowledge of the son of man
To behold the labour of man under the heavens…
Lo, all is vanity and of a vain show under the sun
In mine meditation, I came to remembrance of the prosperity of the heathen, even the atheist…
Behold, how they excel and are full of prosperity
In mine curiosity, I looked upon His children, even His chosen..
Lo, how they’re expectant and full of disappointments
Mine heart was troubled and full of sorrow
For this world is full of mystery, who can know it?
Yea, the world is full of sorrow, who can bear it?
Again, in mine sanity I returned from beholding the works of man under the sun
And I set my gaze on above
Yea, I set it no more on below
To understand the will of God for men
To behold the plan of God for man
Behold, man is without knowledge and understanding
Yea, man lack wisdom and walk in ignorance
For lo, I saw the labour of man which is worthless
And the works of the industrious without wisdom
This is but vanity and vexation of spirit
For the son(s) of men search not for God
Lo, they wait not for Him
And they seek after this world
They seek not for His treasure, yea, even His word
This is but a spear in my spirit and a shaken of the head
For in a very little while, the wicked will soon perish
Yea, now is the time, the righteous will soon flourish…
Selah…
